Benefit from our excellent network in the Asian region and our expertise in dealing with the existing intercultural differences to successfully bridge these gaps and act confidently in the Chinese market.

Furthermore, we are co-initiator of the education initiative SMART EDUCATION CHINA. East China Normal University

Since 2013, S&P Consulting has been cooperating with the East China Normal University (ECNU) in Shanghai. Within the framework of the cooperation, a joint research center was established:

ECNU-S&P Research Center for ICT-Enabled Systemic Changes and Innovations

The following focal points were jointly defined at the beginning of the research. In the collaborative projects, the areas of education, competence development, and intercultural challenges have taken on particular importance:

  • Analysis of the similarities and differences between Chinese philosophy (e.g. Confucianism) and modern systems theory
  • Development of a theoretical and practical model for innovation in educational culture, taking into account the socio-economic conditions in China
  • Development of concepts, methods and tools for innovation and competence development in the context of globalization
  • Development and implementation of specific concepts and methods to effectively support organizational change processes in the Chinese school sector through modern information and communication technologies (ICT)
  • Transfer of these concepts, methods and tools to other sectors, e.g. healthcare, hospitality, multinational corporations (corporate culture)

Robert A. Sedlák has been appointed Guest Professor at East China Normal University (ECNU), where he leads seminars on Introduction to Modern Systems Theory. The awarding of the title took place on 05 July 2013 at the ECNU premises in Shanghai.

The cooperation resulted in the initiative SMART EDUCATION CHINA, which aims to modernize the Chinese education system and promotes innovative concepts and methods, especially in Chinese teacher education.

The essence of Smart Education China is the creation of intelligent environments through the use of smart technologies. In this way, pedagogical methods can support personalized learning opportunities and nurture learners and thus talents with a better value orientation, higher quality of thinking, and stronger ability to act.
